Urine drug testing

Urine drug testing is quite common now and is regularly required for checking diabetes levels, blood pressure levels and also to check the health of individuals. Urine test is a regular test that is required for every purpose. Similarly, when it comes to the area of drug testing, urine test will produce clear report and every piece of information about the health of an individual.  If an employer requests a drug test from an employee, an employee has to collect urine in a remote location and collect urine in a specially secured cup and seal it with tape and send it through courier service  to a laboratoratory to be screened for drugs especially for SAMHSA 5 panel.

Although there are many stages of observations for arriving at results, the overall view of urine test on the base of drug test is very beneficial both from the employer point of view and from the point view of an employee.

If after several stages of testing, if it proves to be non-negative, the employer will be informed about the drug addition or drug prescription of an employee. Otherwise, the employee will be informed that the result of urine test has been negative and there are no further tests required to be conducted.

But the chances of cheating or substitution or adulteration are more here and it is important at this point to monitor the individuals closely that they do not follow or practice any fraud methods in giving sample of urine for the drug testing. Some of adulterants that can be found are white vinegar, sodium nitrite, bleach, chlorine and liquid drain cleaner. Another category of adulterants is Urine Luck Version 6.3, Stealth, Clean-X, Instant Clean, Krystal Clean, Purafyzit and UR’n Kleen.

The new regulations from the U.S. Department of Transportation state that specimens which indicate a low temperature or show signs of adulteration will be asked to make a second specimen from the donor and this will be collected under direct observation.  The donor must also ensure that he does not possess any device or substance that falsifies the test.  It is also considered to be illegal to posssess such a device and is not advisable. Urine test being an important test is very advantageous for detection of many diseases and also for detection of crime and investigation. Urine test will continue to gain its prominence in the field of drug testing and also for safeguarding the health of people.
