Saliva is a self-generating liquid which is very important to increase your appetite, to give you better taste of food and also to keep your odor and dental health in perfect condition. It really surprises one, how saliva can be used in drug testing. But this is a very effective method that helps you to have easy identification whether a person has been under the influence of drugs.
A simple understanding is, when we chew food in our mouth, the saliva in the mouth gets mixed with the food and will help to push the food into the throat and further to the stomach. Saliva absorbs some of the food and will actually keep a portion of the contents. This means our saliva will always carry a specific taste of our food and therefore, a person who is to be tested for saliva drug testing will always indicate whether drug presence is readily available in saliva or it is not available. Regular test and random test are some of the most effective types of drug screening programs. For instance, if a person is met with an accident and the cause of incident is not known, if the saliva drug testing is made, if the presence of alcohol content is readily available in the saliva, this means that individual was under the influence of alcohol while driving and therefore, the result and report is clear.
Intoxication can be present in saliva in the form of alcohol, cocaine, opiates, marijuana and hashish, Methampethamine, benzodiazepines, amphetamines and phencyclidine. Saliva tests are highly sensitive and detection time can vary from one content to another and therefore, one has to wait for the appropriate results.
Saliva drug testing can give number of results in case drug addiction, crime, accident, theft or for any sort of detective investigation. This is because, saliva can give very high type of sensitive information to the investigator and the results might lead to any extent in finding the guilty or proving innocent. Especially when people are travelling while having alcohol or drugs may lead to hazardous incidents and this is not advisable.
Effective measures will be implemented by the transport authorities once they find that people are travelling with over dose of drugs and intoxicants. Therefore saliva test is a very important drug test and is very useful.
